When will Canon M3 RAW (CR2) files be compatible with iPhoto and Aperture?

I recently purchased a Canon M3 camera - but now I find that the RAW files are not compatible with iOS. Any word on when there will be an update?

Apple never announces the RAW upgrades in advance, sorry. If anybody knew for sure, they would not be allowed to post it here.

Any RAW update will probably come as an update to the Operating system, and Apple did not yet announce, if the next MacOS X version El Capitan will support Aperture and iPhoto.
